X-Kart Take International Podium at Tillotson T4 Nations Cup as Squad Competes Across Two Events

X-Kart drivers were in action across two separate events over the weekend, with Riley Bishop, Elijah Hartley and Harry Ward making the trip to Valencia for the Tillotson T4 Nations Cup and Isaac Jameson and Luke Milward heading to PFI for Round 6 of the Trent Valley Kart Club. The weekend produced one of the team’s strongest international results of the year, with Bishop delivering a podium finish from a field of 96 drivers in Spain.

T4 Senior

Riley Bishop

Riley Bishop headed into the T4 Nations Cup with confidence following a strong showing at the same event the previous year. Testing on Thursday went well, but racing on Friday was cancelled due to a government weather warning, condensing what would have been a three-day programme into two days of qualifying, heats, and finals on Saturday and Sunday.

He made the most of the compressed schedule. Saturday morning qualifying produced pole position, and he followed that up with wins in four of his five heats before a P5 in the final heat left him starting P2 for the final. The race itself was exactly what a Nations Cup final should be – competitive, close, and unrelenting across every lap. Riley led for a strong portion of the race before crossing the line P2, just 0.3 seconds off the win, from a 96-driver international field.

P2 from pole in a 96-driver international field is a result that speaks clearly about where his pace is. The win was close, and the trajectory heading into the next event is clear.

TVKC Round 6, PFI

Senior Rotax

Isaac Jameson

Isaac Jameson continued his Senior Rotax development at PFI for Round 6 of the Trent Valley Kart Club, working through a difficult set of races on one of the fastest circuits in British karting. Qualifying P16 in his group and P24 overall across a 52-driver field, Isaac faced a tough afternoon across both heats.

Heat 1 saw him collected by a multi-kart crash behind him on the opening lap, sending him across the gravel and into the barrier. He rejoined, caught back up, but finished P29 from what had been a salvageable position. Heat 2 was chaotic from the start, with Isaac losing places in the opening corners to avoid incidents before climbing from P28 back to P20, setting fastest lap in the process until the penultimate lap.

The heat results placed him in the B Final, starting P10. He moved forward, lost a couple, and crossed the line P5 with fastest lap before a dropped nose penalty applied post-race dropped him to P6. A difficult afternoon overall, but the pace to run in the top ten across both the B Final and the heats was clear throughout. Consistency in the opening laps is the focus heading into the next round.

Additional Team Results

In T4 Junior at the Nations Cup, Elijah Hartley finished P29 and Harry Ward P21. In Inter Max at TVKC Round 6, Luke Milward finished P4.
