X-Racing Take Championship Lead at Silverstone with Oliver Heron

X-Racing enjoyed a strong weekend at Silverstone GP in the BRSCC Fiesta Junior Championship, with Oliver Heron securing two podium finishes and maximum championship points to leave the event leading the standings.

Qualifying

A competitive qualifying session around the Silverstone Grand Prix circuit saw Oliver secure a front row starting position for the opening race. Strong pace throughout the session immediately placed both Oliver and X-Racing in contention for the overall victory heading into the weekend’s races.

Race 1

Starting from P2, Oliver made an excellent launch and led from the opening lap while remaining locked in a close battle at the front throughout the race. The pace between the leading pair remained incredibly tight all the way to the chequered flag, with only 0.032 seconds separating them at the finish.

Although Oliver crossed the line in P2 overall, the race winner was entered as a guest driver, meaning Oliver secured maximum championship points for X-Racing from the opening race of the weekend.

Oliver explained that the pace felt strong throughout the race and the battle at the front remained clean and competitive from start to finish.

Race 2

Race 2 produced another strong result as he once again secured P2 on the road and another P1 points finish for the championship.

Difficult and slippery conditions made overtaking challenging throughout the race, but Heron remained firmly inside the lead group and continued applying pressure at the front. Despite pushing hard for the lead during the closing stages, he ultimately secured another valuable podium finish and maximum points haul.

Championship Lead Secured

The results from Silverstone now place Oliver and X-Racing at the top of the BRSCC Fiesta Junior Championship standings heading into the next rounds of the season.

Leaving one of the fastest and most demanding circuits on the calendar with two podium finishes and the championship lead marks another important step forward in a highly competitive season.
