XKART Race Report – SuperOne Rounds 9 & 10 at Whilton Mill

Pace, setbacks and standout performances as the championship nears its close

Whilton Mill hosted Rounds 9 and 10 of the SuperOne Series and, as always, delivered a weekend packed with pace, unpredictability and hard-fought racing. For XKART, it was a mix of flying form, learning moments, and some seriously bad luck — but the performance across the team continues to show real strength as the season heads toward its conclusion.

Riley Bishop once again proved he’s one of the quickest drivers on the grid, carrying his momentum from UKC into the weekend with top-tier pace in every session. Competitive from lights out to flag, Riley’s pace was never in doubt, and his form continues to build race by race.

Leon Barlow showed strong speed all weekend but was caught out by misfortune. Despite solid performances in the heats and promising pace, he was sadly written out of Sunday’s final after being caught up in an incident that ended his race early. A tough result that didn’t reflect his potential across the weekend.

Lewis Holt showed strong form on Saturday with consistent pace across all sessions, finishing P10, P5, and P5 to firmly place himself inside the top group. Sunday proved more of a challenge, but he battled through the field to end the final in P12, rounding off a solid weekend of racing and resilience.

Elijah Hartley had one of his grittiest drives yet, battling through the weekend with major kart damage that left him on the back foot from the outset. Despite the challenge, he pushed on and delivered a weekend of damage limitation, making the most of every lap he could get.

Cassidy Southall had one of his most complete race weekends to date. Measured, consistent and composed, Cassidy gained six positions in Sunday’s final and crossed the line in P16, P14 post penalties — a strong reward for his continued development and growing race craft.

Lucas Steele and Isaac Jameson both endured a weekend defined by bad luck. Both were caught up in other drivers’ incidents that ended their Sunday finals early, despite promising performances in earlier sessions. It was a weekend of “what could have been,” but both continue to gain experience and sharpen their race awareness.

With two more rounds left in the championship, the team will take the positives, the pace, and the lessons forward into the final fight.
