This XKART race report provides insights into a weekend that felt like it lasted a week, as the crew has finally made it back from Rounds 5 and 6 of the Super One Series. Kit unpacked, karts dropped off, another chapter written.
This XKART race report exemplified motorsport in its rawest form, relentless, rewarding, and at times, brutally unforgiving. But through the setbacks, standout performances and unwavering teamwork told the real story.
A Weekend That Tested Everyone
Saturday kicked off with promise. Dry running, competitive lap times, and a real buzz under the awning. But as the heats unfolded and the weekend wore on, luck became a scarce resource for several of our drivers.
Leon Barlow showed glimpses of pace throughout the weekend, but once again found himself caught in the chaos, fired off, collected in other people’s incidents, and hampered by mechanical issues. A tough one to take, but Leon’s speed and commitment are clear. The results will come.
Hartley was in a similar boat, no shortage of misfortune, but looked sharp and racey when the opportunity came. His fight through the pack didn’t go unnoticed. A driver who’s definitely on the move.
At the other end of the spectrum, Cassidy delivered exactly what you want on a championship weekend, calm, controlled, consistent. Saturday’s trophy was well earned, and another step forward in an increasingly impressive season.
Performance, Pressure & Promise
There’s never a dull weekend with Lewis Holt, and this one was no different. Top-three pace was there to see, but translating that speed into results remains the final piece of the puzzle. The talent is unquestionable, it’s now about focus, composure, and trusting the process. A trophy’s coming, sooner rather than later.
Riley Bishop added to his silverware collection with a double podium across both rounds, further extending his championship lead. While Riley always wants more, his consistency and professionalism continue to set the tone for the team. He’s fast, reliable, and a real role model under the XKART banner.
We also welcomed Max for his first-ever race weekend, and what a weekend to start. With a mountain of new information to take in, Max stayed composed and delivered steady improvements with each session. A solid foundation now in place, brilliant work.
Then there was Isaac. Blistering pace on Saturday, without question one of the quickest on track, but tangled heats meant the results never reflected the effort. Sunday followed a similar rhythm. At one point, it looked like his weekend was over after he came in with one of the most bent karts we’ve ever seen. But thanks to some phenomenal effort from the crew, he was rebuilt, recovered, and back out to finish the job. That’s what this team is all about.
The Final Bell
By Sunday evening, we’d endured mechanicals, contact, and crashes. But we’d also taken podiums, made progress, and pulled off one of the fastest awning pack-downs in XKART history. We were driving away before the final races had even finished. A huge thank you to everyone who chipped in to make that happen, especially the Hartley family for going above and beyond.
Beyond the Track
Now, it’s time for a short break, but not before we support two of our own doing something extraordinary. This Saturday, Louis Harvey and Molly Pugh are jumping out of a plane to raise money for The Brain Tumour Charity, a cause close to Molly’s heart. The whole team will be there cheering them on. What’s Next?
We regroup, we recover, and then we go again. JKC at PFI is just around the corner. This team has more to give, and we’re not done yet.
Thank you to every driver, family member, mechanic and supporter for showing up in every sense this weekend. The results will come, but the attitude is already there.
See you at the next one.
